the Southold Town Hall meeting hall and via Zoom.
Changes to Housing Bulk Schedule:
Civics committee is looking to change to lot coverage size for the entire town.
Current code is 20% lot coverage.
Civics proposal would lessen the lot coverage and the change would depend on the size of the
property and also possibly increase set backs.
The committee is concerned that there is no agricultural or aquacultural exemption from these
changes.
Farmland is considered residential so without an exemption this could have an impact on
farmers.
The Board is looking to move on this by the end of the year, but there is no public hearing
scheduled yet so it may not happen.
Maybe an idea would be to exclude properties that have over 2 acres from this new schedule/
Will this proposal grant exemptions from previously built properties? Because some
residences have been built on very small lots,
If this schedule passes it seems that most building permits will have to go to ZBA to be
approved because everyone will already be over the new limits.
Chapter 70 and AgPDD Updates
It has been over a year since the committee has sent its proposed changes to chapter 70
to the code committee and the board. There has been no movement on those changes.
