The 2 deck girders are double 2x8,spaced a %the distance from house ledger board and 1 foot short of new deck area framing.This is consistent with both deck areas. The deck joists are 2x8 pressure treated spaced at 16" on center, remaining consistent with existing deck framing. The deck joists attached to the ledger board on the house are nailed with hot dipped galvanized nails. The deck joists are supported by a pressure treated ledger, which is attached to house ledger board with epoxy coated screws. The deck joist support ledger can be seen in the attached pictures,taken from either end of the deck. The use of the ledger to support the deck joists was keeping consistency with the existing deck framing.The exterior rim joist is also screwed to the deck joists using epoxy coated screws.
