LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
Minutes & Discussion Notes from Meeting held
Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
This Regular Meeting was held via the Zoom online platform.
The public had access to view and listen to the meeting as it was happening via Zoom. If no access to a computer or
smartphone, there was an option to listen in via telephone.
Comments from the public may not be solicited nor received without an appointment. It is expected that the Committee will
enter into Executive Session* at some point after opening the Regular Meeting for the purpose of discussing applications
regarding proposed acquisitions of real property where publicity would substantially affect the value thereof. The public is not
allowed to attend, view, or listen to Executive Session.

Committee Minutes and Administration
Acceptance of LPC meeting minutes from January 25, 2022
MOTION made by Sam McCullough, seconded by Doris McGreevy, to accept the 1/25/2022 LPC
meeting minutes.
Motion carried: 4/0/1 (LPC member Eric Keil could not vote as absent from 1/25/2022 LPC meeting)
Next Regular LPC Meeting Date
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 22, 2022 and will be held via the Zoom
online platform.
Brian Mealy, newly elected Town Board member, noted that he is trying to attend every Committee to
introduce himself. He acknowledged Committee members and thanked them for the work they do.

Land Preservation Applications & Potential Applications
Messina Conservation Subdivision

Review referral from Planning Board
LPC reviewed the proposed Conservation Subdivision design. The Conservation Subdivision includes a
43.6 acre parcel proposed to be preserved as open space by the Town. The 43.6 acre parcel is inclusive
of 9.7334 acres of wetland area, 1.2224 acres of electric easement and 8.19± acres of clustered open
space.
MOTION made by Eric Keil, seconded by Doris McGreevy, that the Committee supports the
Conservation Subdivision as proposed and will take the project to the Town Board to start the appraisal
process once the Planning Board grants sketch plan approval.
Motion carried: 6/0 (Member W. Lee absent for vote)
EXECUTIVE SESSION
MOTION made by Eric Keil, seconded by Anne Murray, to enter into EXECUTIVE SESSION

The LPC members entered intoEXECUTIVE SESSION at7:11 p.m.
Attendees dismissed and meeting locked.
Land Preservation Coordinator Melissa Spiro gave updates on inquiries, new applications,
appraisals and current applications.
Holly Sanford, PLT presented information pertaining to two potential open space applications. No
formal action taken by LPC.
MOTION made by Anne Murray, seconded by Eric Keil, to exit Executive Session.

EXECUTIVE SESSION ENDED at 8:05 p.m.
MOTION made by Eric Keil, seconded by Anne Murray, to recommend that the Town extend a proposed
purchase offer to the landowner, as discussed while in Executive Session, for a development rights easement
acquisition on a certain parcel of land at a price
