Box 112 Farmingdale, NY ~e: Sunoco Station~ Ma~.n Road, Mattituck, NY Southold Town Board of Appeals -2- May 19, 1977 Dear Sirs: The Board of Appeals has no objection to you converting the southerly island nearest to Route 25 into a self~service island as long as there are attendants at the station. Yours truly, /s/ Robert W. Gillispie, Jr. Chairman Town Board Town of Southold Main Road Southold, NY 11971 Re: Self-Service Gasoline Stations. Gentlemen: We have acted favorably on an application from Agway for a self-service gasoline station with key controlled distribution of gas to a select list of customers. On May 5, 1977, the Sunoco station in Mattituck requested through their contractor, Larry E. Tyree Co. in Farmingdale, permission to change the existing, southerly island nearest to Route 25 to self-service pumps. Counsel indicates that, in his opinion, the Board of Appeals is in the position of having no control over this change. Accordingly, we are not asking them to make an application. If the Town Board feels that conSrols of some sort should be placed in the Ordinance regulating self-service gasoline stations or pumps, it would be in order to move promptly because we expect many more such change~. In the case of the Sunoco station, distribution of gasoline will be made only when a~tendants are present. Very truly yours, /s/ Robert W. Gii~iisp~e, Jr. Chairman The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 P.M. (E.D.S.T.) Res~0ectfullY~submitted v Secretary
