Located: 980 The Strand, East Marion. SCTM# 1000-30- 2-78 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is INCONSISTENT with LWRP Policy 4 and therefore INCONSISTENT with the LWRP. 1. The slope of the bluff appears to be to severe to hold vegetation over time. 4.1. Minimize losses of human life and structures from flooding and erosion hazards Use vegetative non-structural measures which have a reasonable probability of managing flooding and erosion, based on shoreline characteristics including exposure, geometry, and sediment composition. Cape American Beach Grass requires very sandy, well drained soils. 2. Identify the source of the boulders. The use of boulders in private projects that occur on the beach should be prohibited. 3. Wetland Permit 9900 issued in 2021 specifies that there shall be no replanting of the bluff except under immediate area of the stairs. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
