That is why our input is up against your deadline for input. Our concern is the eye view to West Harbor as the water view contributes significantly to the enjoyment and value of our home. The "New Addition" shown in pink is directly in our line of sight to the water where the addition extends from the new stair location. The "New Screened in Porch" shown in blue is directly in our line of sight as it extends from the existing porch. There already exists a very large oak tree on that side that impinges a clear view and this expansion can't help. Perhaps the removal of that tree would mitigate any lost views from that side of the house. If all the expansion were towards the water rather than the sides of the existing footprint we would have no concern. We appreciate that our views to the water may not be your major consideration but any negative impact on our water views will make our entire extended family very unhappy. Please consider this in your review. Located: 227 Hedge Street, Fishers Island. SCTM# 1000-10-7-20 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is INCONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore is INCONSISTENT with the LWRP. 1. Although the new screened in porch and addition seem minor in nature, they are proposed to be located within the FEMA VE (Velocity Hazard Flood Zone) and not supported by Policy 4 which seeks to minimize or relocate structures within these structural hazard zones. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action. Lauren Standish,SecretaryAPIP.O.Box 1179 Southold,NY 11971 Telephone(631)765-1889 Fax(631)765-1823 Conservation Advisory Council Town of Southold At the meeting of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council held Wed., January 12, 2022 the following recommendation was made: WALTER HELLIER to remove an existing open porch on the water side of the house. In its place, construct a new one-story addition of 337 sf. and a new screened porch of 267 sf., with new stairs down to grade. Existing covered porches on landward side of additions are in poor repair and will be rebuilt. Located: 227 Hedge St., Fishers Island. SCTM#10-7-20 The CAC did not make an inspection, however, the plans were reviewed and it was noted that the proposed addition is not in compliance with Ch. 275 of the Town Code. y Cantrell, Elizabeth From: Sam Fitzgerald <sam@sfapc.net> Sent: Monday,January 3, 2022 3:24 PM To: Cantrell, Elizabeth Subject: Hellier Residence Hi Elizabeth, Square footages are as follows: House with new addition: Dimensions of footprint: 46'-10" x 29'-3" (981 sq. ft.)
