Anti-Bias Task Force Committee
Present: Co-Chairperson Valerie Shelby, Secretary Christopher North Dr. David Schultz ,
Cindy Smith Dr. Carolyn Peabody, Lingo, Jean, Emily Geiger
Excused: LeRoy Heyliger, Co-Chairperson Sonia Spar Sandra Benedetto Laura Held
Absent: Eleanor Lingo, Jean LePre„ Marjorie Day,
Special guest: Michele Lynch Co-Chairperson of Anti-Bias Task Force Committee Riverhead
Open meeting 10:20 am
1. Approval of Minutes
A. Motion made by Co-Chairperson Valerie Shelby to approve the minutes from
October 18, 2021 Mrs. Geiger It was second by Dr. Peabody 7 yes - 0 no
2. CDC guidelines concerns in the Schools
A. The anti-bias task force committee recommended Valerie Shelby find out more
information before the task force takes any action
3. Justice Reform (work group)
A. mr. North reported on the working group has finished the
recommendation on mental health
4.. Collaboration with the east end ABTF
A. Report Miss Lynch Co-Chairperson of Anti-Bias Task Force Committee
Riverhead said Would like to work together on more projects . she also reported
that the Riverhead anti-bias task force meets every third monday of the month at 5
PM The location for the meeting is Community center in Riverhead
4. Review of the Brochure.
A. Miss Shelby co chair reported that she has finished working on the brochures . If you
would like recommendations and edit it please send them to her by November 19, 2021
5. Possible way to Celebrate MLK (due to Covid-19's)
A. A recommendation on the task force committee to celebrate Martin Luther King is a
food drive where all proteins are going to CAST . It was also recommended if you have
an idea please bring it to next months meeting on December 20, 2021 at 5pm
