They requested I email you with a request to submit revised plans to be received by next Wednesday morning for all three properties in order to be further discussed during the public hearings. The requested information would be the same for each except for the last bullet: • A proposed 10' wide non-turf buffer along the landward edge of the top of the bluff. • To scale drawings of the slope of toe armoring and show a less steep slope as it currently looks too much like a wall to the Board. • Some of the plans show terracing. If terracing is proposed on any of the bluffs please submit a terracing& planting plan for each and revise said project description(s). • Please add on the plans and project description the proposed source of the boulders to be used for said projects. • Specifically for the two outer properties, modify the proposed rock revetment to show a sort of inward angled revetment at each outer"end" of the revetment in order to help alleviate the amount of erosion the proposed may cause the abutting properties. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Senior Office Assistant Town of Southold Board of Trustees Office: 631-765-1892 Email: elizabethc@southoldtownny.gov t. Located: 980 The Strand, East Marion. SCTM# 1000-30- 2-78 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is INCONSISTENT with LWRP Policy 4 and therefore INCONSISTENT with the LWRP. 1. The slope of the bluff appears to be to severe to hold vegetation over time. 4.1. Minimize losses of human life and structures from flooding and erosion hazards Use vegetative non-structural measures which have a reasonable probability of managing flooding and erosion, based on shoreline characteristics including exposure, geometry, and sediment composition. Cape American Beach Grass requires very sandy, well drained soils. 2. Identify the source of the boulders. The use of boulders in private projects that occur on the beach should be prohibited. 3. Wetland Permit 9900 issued in 2021 specifies that there shall be no replanting of the bluff except under immediate area of the stairs. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
