RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, 675 Orchard Street, Orient,NY is on the Town of Southold Registry of Historic
Landmarks, and
WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 56-7(b)of the Town Law(Landmarks Preservation Code)
of the-Town of Southold, all proposals for material change/alteration must be
reviewed and granted a Certificate of Appropriateness by-the-Southold Town
Historic,Preservation Commission prior to the issuance of a Building Permit,,
and,
WHEREAS, the applicant submitted a proposal to construct alterations and additions to an
existing single-family dwelling.
WHEREAS, the scope of work includes the replacement of rear brick patio with a 6 inch
above grade wood deck,replacement of front brick stoop with a wood. All wood
to be pressure treated and painted gray. Replace side window with an entry door
to the laundry room,replace asphalt roof, and the construction of a pergola and
outdoor shower; and
WHEREAS, the applicant met with the Commission during a public hearing on August 26,
2021 and September 30,2021,where the applicant submitted final drawing of
scope of work and outlined the project for the Commission,and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the Southold Town Historic Preservation
Commission determines that the proposed work detailed in the above referenced
application can be considered without a public hearing, and

determines that the proposed work meets the criteria for approval under Section
170-8 (A)of the Southold Town Code and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Commission approves the request for a Certificate of
Appropriateness.

- Demolition of front brick stoop, build new wooden step and landing to match existing larger deck on front of
home. Awning and columns to remain.
- Removal of one window, install custom wood door and screen door to exactly match entry doors on front of
home. Install bluestone landing/step. Opening height and width of new door shall be the same as the existing
window.
