To the Historic Preservation Commission, re the Ramones, Julian and
Claudia at 130 Village Lane, Orient
I saw Claudia in her driveway a week or so ago. I asked her to e-mail it to
me on at her Village Lane residence. She pointed out that she had a
drawing she wanted to show me of her house changes they had been
contemplating.
I don't think I saw any dimensions or elevations, but I may be wrong.
I own the Hale House which is just to the south of the Ramones, at 200
Village Lane which is why I have an interest in scale.
I saw the drawing and noted to her that perhaps she would be able to e-
mail it to me. I don't think the drawing had any elevation or other
dimensions but I could be wrong.
Having, said all this I want to say that I applaud the restoration of the
Ramone property and think that it would certainly add to the neighborhood
especially at the entrance to Orients Village Lane. Especially with her
Orient background, I'm sure she and her family would be an asset.

Southold Town Historic Preservation Commission
c/o Southold Building Department
PO Box 1170
Southold, NY 11971
To The Southold Town Historic Preservation Commission:
I am writing this letter in regards to the property located at 130 Village Lane,
Orient, NY 11957.
Claudia Ramone shared with me the plans that she and her husband, Julien are
presenting to the Historic Preservation Commission for renovating said property. I
approve and support these plans.
I have known Claudia for 42 years. Claudia (King) Ramone grew up in Orient and
has a strong attachment and sensitivity to the community and the house at 130
Village Lane.
130 Village Lane is the gateway to Orient Village seeing it is the first house one
sees when turning onto Village Lane. The renovation plans presented by Mr. &
Mrs. Ramone are in keeping with the character, integrity and ambience of our
community.
I encourage the commission to grant Mr. & Mrs. Ramone the go-ahead to renovate
their Orient home at 130 Village Lane.
Respectfully,
Karin Constant
