The metal roof in question has been in place for some decades, and is consistent with other historic properties nearby, which also have metal roofs. This should be the case in this instance as well. Such roofs a part and parcel of the historic character of much of this Historic District neighborhood. This should not prove a hardship, as, In fact, a metal roof was recently installed, per Historic Preservation Commission requirements, on an old garage directly down Willow Street from the property in question. It is my hope that the roof, should it need to be replaced for some less than apparent reason, be replaced with a metal roof, consistent with others nearby.
