The Town Board of the Town of Southold finds that, with the increasing development and population of the Town of Southold, transportation activities are increasing and impacting the local streets. Regulation of pedestrian traffic on local streets is necessary so as to provide for the safety and welfare of the Town's citizens and for the orderly flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic on busy local streets. The proposed Local Law entitled, "A Local Law in relation to an Amendment to Chanter 260,Vehicles and Traffic, in connection with Traffic and Pedestrian Safety" reads as follows: LOCAL LAW NO. 2021 A Local Law entitled, "A Local Law in relation to an Amendment to Chapter 260,Vehicles and Traffic, in connection with Traffic and Pedestrian Safety". BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Southold as follows: § 260-27 Pedestrian Crosswalks A. Purpose. The Town Board of the Town of Southold finds that, with the increasing development and population of the Town of Southold, transportation activities are increasing and impacting the local streets. Regulation of pedestrian traffic on local streets is necessary so as to provide for the safety and welfare of the Town's citizens and for the orderly flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic on busy local streets. B. There shall be a pedestrian crosswalks at the following locations: Name of Street Location F Montauk Ave. and Oriental Ave. Running North and South across Oriental Ave. at its intersection with Montauk Ave. Fishers Island. SEVERABILITY If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section, or part of this Local Law shall be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the judgment shall not affect the validity of this law as a whole or any part thereof other than the part so decided to be unconstitutional or invalid.
