Be it enacted the Town Board of the:

§ 260-27 Pedestrian Crosswalks
A. Purpose. The Town Board of the Town of Southold finds that, with the increasing development and
population of the Town of Southold, transportation activities are increasing and impacting the local streets.
Regulation of pedestrian traffic on local streets is necessary so as to provide for the safety and welfare of
the Town's citizens and for the orderly flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic on busy local streets.
B. There shall be a pedestrian crosswalks at the following locations:
Name of Street Location
Montauk Ave. and Oriental Ave. Running North and South across Oriental Ave.
at its intersection with Montauk Ave. Fishers Island.
Athol-Crescent and Crescent Ave. Running East and West across Crescent Ave.
at its intersection with Athol- Crescent, Fishers Island.
Madeline Ave. and Crescent Ave. Running North and South across Madeline Ave. at its
intersection with Montauk Ave. Fishers Island.
Central Ave. and Crescent Ave. Running North and South across Central Ave. on the easterly
side of the intersection, Fishers Island.

III. SEVERABILITY
If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section, or part of this Local Law shall be adjudged by any court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the judgment shall not affect the validity of this law as a whole or any part
thereof other than the part so decided to be unconstitutional or invalid.
IV. EFFECTIVE DATE
This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State as provided by law.

IV. EFFECTIVE DATE
This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State as provided
by law.

ADOPTED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD ON
JUNE 15, 2021:
WHEREAS,there has been presented to the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk
County,New York, on the 15th day of June, 2021, a Local Law entitled "A Local Law in
relation to Amendments to Chanter 260, Vehicles and Traffic, in connection with Traffic
and Pedestrian Safety" now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold will hold a public hearing on the
aforesaid Local Law at Southold Town Hall, 53095 Main Road, Southold,New York, on the
13th day of July, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at which time all interested persons will be given an
opportunity to be heard.
The proposed Local Law entitled, "A Local Law in relation to an Amendment to Chanter
260,Vehicles and Traffic, in connection with Traffic and Pedestrian Safety" reads as
follows:

A Local Law entitled, "A Local Law in relation to an Amendment to Chapter 260,Vehicles
and Traffic, in connection with Traffic and Pedestrian Safety".
BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Southold as follows:
§ 260-27 Pedestrian Crosswalks
A. Purpose. The Town Board of the Town of Southold finds that, with the increasing
development and population of the Town of Southold, transportation activities are
increasing and impacting the local streets. Regulation of pedestrian traffic on local streets is
necessary so as to provide for the safety and welfare of the Town's citizens and for the
orderly flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic on busy local streets.
B. There shall be a pedestrian crosswalks at the following locations:
