Main Rd. &Youngs Ave.) Southold, NY 11971 G ® �Q Telephone: 631 765-1938 00UNT LOCAL WATERFRONT REVITALIZATION PROGRAM TOWN OF SOUTHOLD MEMORANDUM To: Donald Wilcenski, Chair Town of Southold Planning Board From: Mark Terry, AICP Assistant Town Planning Director LWRP Coordinator Date: July 10, 2021 Re: Murtha Agricultural Barn SCTM#: 1000-56-1-11.5 Zoning District—A-C This site plan application is for the proposed construction of a 42' x 60' agricultural storage building for equipment related to raising livestock and pasture management, on 20.6 acres in the AC Zoning District. The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department,the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the LWRP provided the following is considered: The proposed 4' livestock fence is within and close to a quality,NYSDEC identified freshwater wetland system and within Board of Trustee jurisdiction. It is recommended that the application is referred to the NYSDEC and Board of Trustees for review. A vegetated buffer sufficient in width and composition to maximize and retain wetland function and values and also further Policy 6.3 Protect and restore tidal and freshwater wetlands is recommended. Buffers should be designed to provide the following functions and values: a. Provide denitrification and nutrient uptake b. Slow water runoff and enhance infiltration C. Trap pollutants in surface runoff d. Trap pollutants in subsurface flow e. Stabilize soils Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
