inspection by Code Enforcement Official is required. If the owner chooses not to have said
inspection performed by the Town, a certification from a licensed architect, a licensed
professional engineer or a home inspector who has a valid New York State Uniform Fire
Prevention Building Code Certification is required stating that the property which is the subject
of the rental permit application is in compliance with all of the provisions of the code of the
Town of Southold,the laws and sanitary and housing regulations of the County of Suffolk and
by the laws adopted by the New York State Fire Prevention and Building Code Council.

Pursuant to our conversation last week, enclosed please find (1) a completed, signed and
notarized Rental Permit Application; (2) Floor plans of the house in the form of a copy of the
plans of our architect originally approved by the Town for issuance of the Building Permit (they
show the locations of the Smoke Detectors (SD) and the Carbon Monoxide Detectors (CD); (3) a
copy of the Certificate of Occupancy we received in the mail today from your office (you should
have another copy in the file for this application, as per our conversation last week); (4) a
Certification of Code Compliance signed and stamped by our architect and (5) a check for
$200.00 payable to the Town Of Southold Building Dept.
If there are any questions, please phone me or send me an email.
Kindly have this application processed in due course and email and mail the permit to me at the
address above.
