Reconfigure floating docks southwest of travel lift slip, as follows: remove (without replacement) 5' x 170' floating dock ("G") and adjacent 166' in-water bulkhead ("H"); remove and replace six (6) 4' x variable length finger floats (attached to floating dock to be removed) with six (6) 4' x 24' finger floats and associated pilings to be attached to existing +5' x 172' floating dock to remain ("J"). SCTM# 1000-114-3-1 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the actions are CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore are CONSISTENT with the LWRP. To meet Policy 6. Protect and restore the quality and function of the Town of Southold ecosystem. the following is required. 1. Verify that the dredged material (spoil) to be used as back-fill on-site is suitable and not contaminated. 2. Comply with § 275-11. Construction and operation standards. a. Require turbidity controls during all in water construction to minimize adverse impacts on ecological components. b. Minimize the use of CCA treated materials in this expected, low flushing area of Mattituck Creek. Clarify where the closest pump out facility/boat is to service this marina. This determination was made in consideration of the replacement and reconfiguration of existing structures. It is my understanding that the proposed work will not increase the number of boats using, moored or stored on-site. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action. There is no viable non-structural alternative means of maintaining the travel lift slip or maintaining and protecting the upland portion of the property in its current location. Without replacement and maintenance of the bulkhead,the subject property would be exposed to severe erosion,flooding,and potential damage to the structures located thereon. Thus,consistent with Policy 4,the project will continue to effectively protect against the potential loss of the adjacent upland and commercial structures.
