Policy 6
The project consists of the modification of an existing,Town-permitted dock(Wetlands Permit 4084),
specifically the replacement of an existing ramp and shore-parallel float with a longer ramp and
shore-perpendicular float over the open waterway at the seaward end of the existing fixed catwalk to
remain. As modified, the existing floating dock, which is resting in insufficient water depth pursuant
to Town Trustee and NYSDEC policies, would be replaced by a float situated in water at least 30
inches deep at mean low water. And the dock, which is situated between two contiguous docks,
would maintain the same separation distance from those docks and would extend no farther seaward
than the existing pier line established by the two docks. The proposed dock modification would thus
be consistent in all ways with the "construction and operation standards" for docks set forth by Town
Code Section 275-11(C)(2)and would not have any adverse impacts on existing navigational
conditions or otherwise affect the public and recreational use of the navigable waterway; create any
"fragmentation of ecological communities;"or result in the physical loss, degradation, or functional
loss of ecological components, or otherwise adversely impact the adjacent vegetated tidal wetlands or
surface waters. The project would thus be consistent with Policy 6 of the LWRP.

adjacent waterway.
