Minimize loss of life, structures, and natural resources from flooding and erosion. See LWRP Section III- Policies Pages 8 through 16 for evaluation criteria ® Yes ❑ No ❑ Not Applicable The project seeks replacement of an existing,Trustees-permitted timber bulkhead(Wetlands Peraut No.8015)with a vinyl bulkhead in the same location (and approximately 12 inches higher to match the elevation of the two adjacent bulkheads to the north and south)to maintain the property's historical method of protection against erosion and flooding. The existing, developed site has been improved with and supported and protected from flooding and erosion by a bulkhead since prior to 1977,and there is no viable non-structural alternative means of maintaining and protecting the upland portion of the property in its current location Without replacement and maintenance of the bulkhead, the subject property and the adjacent, bulkheaded properties to the north and south would be exposed to severe erosion, flooding, and potential damage to the residential structures located thereon Thus, consistent with Policy 4,the project will continue to effectively protect against the potential loss of the adjacent upland and residential structures without causing significant change to or adverse impacts on the adjacent beach, tidal waters,or adjoining properties Attach additional sheets if necessary Policy 5.
