The next regular AAC meeting will be on Wednesday May 12, 2021 at 7:00 pm in the Southold Town
Hall meeting hall and via Zoom.
Minutes and Administration:
Motion to postpone approval of minutes, Made by Chris Baiz, Seconded by Doug Cooper, ALL
approved.
Discussion on Easement Subcommittee meeting:
The meeting between AAC’s subcommittee (made up of Tom Stevenson, Mark
VanBourgondien, and Jim Glover) and a subcommittee from the LPC was held on 04/23/21 to
discuss changing the easement language.
Mark stated that the LPC is in agreement that changes do need to be made to make the
easement simpler and more streamlined.
Doug stated that we should present to them the changed easement we have been working on
and let them look it over.
Discussion was had on how the easement only benefits the farmer once and no benefits after
for the owner or for any possible future owners. Selling the rights should be rewarded more
than the one-time payment. The town benefits forever.
The LPC does think it is unreasonable that we are trying to write code. That should be left to
the code committee not us.
The meeting overall was productive and another meeting will be scheduled hopefully for June
to continue working on easement language.

Easement and Codes:
Chris is working on combining the easements with the changes we have made and should
have it ready to hand out by the next meeting.
The AgPDD needs to be read and discussed again. Then a meeting should be scheduled with
the Town Attorney and Supervisor to discuss how one would go about selling one right off at a
time.
Also how is a person supposed to know where agricultural structures will be placed in the
future. If rights are sold that should not restrict where a future structure needs to go.
Committee members to review of Chapters 280-170 and 280-175 to help better understand
this process.
Adjournment:
MOTION to adjourn at 8:15 pm made by Tom Stevenson, seconded by Mark VanBourgondien, ALL
in favor.
Minutes respectfully submitted by: Laura Arena
