Permit to remove the existing deteriorated timber bulkhead and the landward installation of 135
lineal feet of new vinyl bulkhead with a raised height of 18" above existing; a proposed 4' wide
gravel pathway to the new bulkhead; and a 30" wide by 14' long aluminum ramp leading to a 6'
wide by 20' long floating dock with untreated timber decking is proposed in the newly created
bulkhead cut-in area; and approximately 50 cubic yards of fill to be removed from between the
existing and proposed bulkhead which will be utilized as fill landward of the proposed bulkhead.

The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the
Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy
Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form
submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that
the proposed action is INCONSISTENT with LWRP Policy 6.3 and therefore, INCONSISTENT with
the LWRP.
6.3 Protect and restore tidal and freshwater wetlands.
A. Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements of the Southold Town Board of
Trustees laws and regulations for all Andros Patent and other lands under their
jurisdiction.
CCA treated wood is proposed to be used in piles, waters and lay logs. It is
recommended that an alternative treated wood be used and the use of CCA be reduced.
Turbidity controls are not proposed.
Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its
written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.

assessment is intended to supplement other information used by a Town of Southold agency in

and other ministerial permits not located within the Coastal Erosion Hazard Area.
2. Before answering the questions in Section C, the preparer of this form should review the exempt

Waterfront Revitalization Program. A proposed action will be evaluated as to its significant
beneficial and adverse effects upon the coastal area(which includes all of Southold T_ ownl.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project includes the removal of the existing deteriorated timber bulkhead and the landward
installation of 137 lineal feet of new vinyl bulkhead with a raised height of 18" above existing. A
proposed 8'wide x 10' long un-treated timber deck flush with surrounding grade is proposed adjacent
to the new bulkhead and a 30"wide x 14' long aluminum ramp leading to a 6'wide x 20' long floating
dock with un-treated timber decking is proposed in a newly created bulkhead cut-in area as shown on
plans. There is approximately 50 cubic yards of fill to be removed from between the existing and
proposed bulkhead which will be utilized as fill landward of the proposed bulkhead. A 10'wide non-turf
buffer is part of this application as well.
