Hi John—
We had a a couple of members at the yacht club yesterday with the aim of finding the end of the concrete boat path.
We were there 3 hours digging/spiking and went down five feet and found the bottom however we were only Y2 way to
the high tide water mark. According to some senior members on our board during a discussion today, they felt the
concrete path ended at the highwater mark but they were not 100% sure. We are thinking the end of the path is at least
under at 12ft+of sand. According to one board member that is due to the piles of sand that the dredging of sand of the
bay has been dumped there for several years. Is there any other way to progress without marking the end point of the
path. Do you have any other

Hi Greg,
Trustee field inspections are scheduled-for Wednesday March 10. Since it would be important to have the entire Board
review the length to make possible, non-binding, suggestions, please call Senior Clerk, Elizabeth Cantrell, to be placed on
the inspection schedule for that date. If it is inconvenient to have a representative of the Yacht Club meet with the Board,
a copy of our report would be available after the inspection.
Take care,
John Bredemeyer

Hi John,
Thank you for your responses to my questions. Appreciate the guidance.
I plan on staking the boat ramp at SYC this week per your instructions. How do we go about getting a field
inspection scheduled?
Is it a matter of sending a letter to into Southold Town board and requesting a field inspection or is there a
better process?
Thanks for all your help.
Best,
Greg

Hi Greg,
Your questions answered in order:
1) We are not permitted to make recommendations for expeditors. If you burrow into the Town website and find Trustee
minutes, you will see the names of competent expeditors. Most expeditors bringing multiple applications to the Board
have a history of competency. Your Board members may know them.
2) I think that if you stake the seaward corners and uncover a spot in the middle of the leading seaward edge, that would
be sufficient for the field-inspection. That should bolster the historical memory of some of us "Old Timers" (Me, I was
catching snappers off the Goose Creek bridge at 10 years of age, almost in the middle of the last century)
3) Unfortunately, the Trustees are not regularly communicating with the NYSDEC. Accordingly, I would not want to speak
to that agencies process or lack thereof. Most competent expeditors will carry permit applications to both the Trustees
and DEC.
Take care,
John Bredemeyer

Hi John,
Thanks for sending over your field report and further guidance to the process. I am going to discuss with SYC
board. I believe we do not plan to extend the current concrete structure. Much appreciated for all your help
thus far.
Three additional questions:
(1) can you recommend any permit expeditors to help with the design and permit process?
(2) 1 believe you said that I just need to find the terminus of the current concrete ramp via a metal rod. Once I
have done that, what do I need to progress the process with the board?
(3) In order to NYS Tidal Wetlands Permit, what is involved in that process. Is it a matter of calling the NY DEC
office and scheduling appointment via the website
DEC Statewide Offices: Contact Information bV Location - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation
Thanks in advance for all your guidance.
Best,
Greg

Dear Mr.Young,
Confirming our discussion last night and to further clarify several points I believe will better facilitate the Southold Yacht
Club's application process I offer the following:
1)Attached is my field report, further clarified by my discussion with you last evening: I believe that a rebuilt/new boat
ramp over/in place of the existing to its furthest extent seaward of the existing is possible, provided
documentation/physical inspection is put under Board,of Trustees review.Uncovering by shovel at the terminus should be
sufficient.
2)It might be advisable to hire a competent permit expeditor to help with the design and permit process.
3)As a Tidal Wetlands Permit will also be required by the NYSDEC, it might be advisable to file sooner rather than later
to that agency as their permit process is typically 2-3 months longer than ours.

Dear Mr. Goldsmith: "
I am writing to request a pre-application inspection meeting with the Board of Trustees regarding a
Wetlands Permit related to improvement of Southold Yacht Club's existing concrete boat ramp.

permission for the Board of Trustees to enter the property for the purpose of such a meeting with me at a
mutually agreed upon date and time. My cell number is (917) 847-6541.
Enclosed is a copy of our latest survey and a'check for$50100 towards our Wetlands Permit.
