Re: Request for pre-submission site meeting on behalf of Harry Dounis, 1280 North Parish Drive,
Southold,SCTM 1000-71-1-27
Dear Mr. Goldsmith:
Per our brief discussion today, please accept this letter along with the enclosed conceptual plot plan;
owner authorization forms; and check for $50 payable to the Southold Town Trustees as a request for a
pre-submission site inspection by the Trustees. We would like to meet with the Board because the owner
wishes to construct a swimming pool in the rear yard of the property, where it would be located within
100 feet of the limit of freshwater wetlands associated with a pond located to the south of the property,
north of Northfield Lane (see below aerial image of subject property and pond). And since we have
conflicting anecdotal evidence about the pond's origin, specifically whether it is naturally occurring or
was artificially constructed; and the center of the pond contains a large fountain/water feature(evident in
photo below), we are seeking to gain a better understanding of 1) what regulatory history the Trustees
may or may not have with the pond and its management/manipulation; and 2) how the Trustees would
view the owner's pool proposal in the context of the permitting requirements of Chapter 275.
