They are asking to clear debris between the LI Sound and their home for a period of 10 years. r I am a neighbor who spends a lot of time on that beach. I fully support the debris clearing with one important d, condition. The debris strewn beach area is used annually for Least Tern nesting as well as Piping Plover nesting. Any walk along that portion of the beach during Spring early summer nesting/fledging season is F greeted by angry Terns dive bombing and squawking at you.
