Dear Diane,
Thanks for remembering this. By discussing with the trustees on November 10, it seems that it is unnecessary to
obtain this permit if we just want to mow the lawn and don't do any construction. Mike also mentioned that it is
pretty unusual to get a very old permit transferred. If you have a chance to discuss with them and they confirm
my understanding, then we don't need to apply for transferring the permit. Thank you.

Thank you for the email. Our board of trustees has jurisdiction to within 100 ft of the wetland.
For that, we hope to add 85 ft fence in total: 75 ft is on the property line with"Land now or
formerly of Curtis &Rita Winkler", and 10 ft on the property line with"Land now or formerly
of Thomas Schlichter& Felicia Scocozza".

First, we would like to thank you for reviewing our previous application concerning the
transfer of an old permit from the previous owner, and your prompt communication with
us about the application.
In the light of our recent phone and email exchanges, it appeared that the transfer of an
old permit may be unnecessary. These conversations made us realize that as new
residents in Southold, we would need to understand better our responsibility to the
wetland that is partially located on our property, as well as our rights as landowner. Per
your recommendation, we are requesting a pre-submission meeting on our property,
550 RENE DR., Southold, NY 11971, with our town's trustees on November 10.
The purpose of this meeting will be:
1) to ask the trustees general guidance and suggestions on land maintenance related to
Chapter 275 Wetlands and Shorelines.
2) to consult on how to fence the property, to protect the wetland and our privacy.
3) to discuss the possibility and permit of building a pool or other construction for the
future.

On October 7, 2020 the Southold Board of Trustees conducted a field inspection at 550 Rene Drive,Southold as a follow
up to our earlier phone conversation and your letter of September 22, 2020.
While on site the Trustees re-flagged the wetland boundary line that delineates the non-disturbance zone specified in
Permit#4969.
You may obtain a copy of Chapter 275 Wetlands and Shorelines to get a clearer understanding of the terms and
conditions of the permit.
Additionally, I can meet with you on site for further clarification. Please call the office should you wish to set up a future
meeting.
Should you after that meeting determine to proceed with an application, it is advisable that you schedule a pre-
submission with the entire Board available to provide additional guidance.
