Executive Order#9 of 2020
EXTENDING AN EXECUTIVE ORDER DECLARING A DISASTER EMERGENCY
WHEREAS,by Executive Order issued on March 12, 2020,pursuant to Section 24 of the Article
2-B of the Executive Law of the State of New York, a disaster emergency in the Town of
Southold was declared and said Executive Order was extended on April 12, 2020; and
WHEREAS, on April 27, 2020,the previous Executive Order issued March 12, 2020 and
extended on April 12, 2020 was extended and modified; and
WHEREAS,the current Executive Order will now end at midnight on May 27, 2020;
WHEREAS,the COVID-19 virus continues to remain a serious threat to health,welfare and safety
of the residents and visitors of the Town of Southold; and
WHEREAS,the State of New York has continued and modified Executive Order No. 202 dated
March 7, 2020.
NOW,THEREFORE,I, Scott A. Russell, Supervisor of the Town of Southold,pursuant to Section
24 of the Article 2-B of the Executive Law of the State of New York, do hereby further extend and
modify the Declaration of a State of Emergency in the Town of Southold as follows:
1. All terms and conditions of Executive Order issued on March 12,2020,extended on April
12, 2020, and modified and extended on April 27, 2020 by Executive Order#3 of 2020, shall
remain in full force in effect until further notice, except;
a. The prohibition against Swimming at all Town Beaches and Road Ends is .hereby
lifted, and
b. Effective immediately,residents who have paid for a Resident Parking Permit online
but have not yet received their sticker may place their proof of purchase receipt on
the driver's side dashboard of their vehicle in lieu of a sticker; provided that the
receipt is placed in such a manner that the information contained in the receipt is
viewable from outside the vehicle.
This order shall take effect at 12:01 am, May 28, 2020
