Dear Town Supervisor: Scott Russell, Town Highway Superintendent: Vincent Orlando, Town Clerk:
Elizabeth Neville, and Town Board Members: Sarah Nappa, Jill Doherty, Jim Dinizio, Bob Ghosio and
Louisa Evans,
I am writing to you as a representative of the Fishers Island Tree Committee on Fishers Island.. We
would like to thank you for your attention to and care of the trees that have recently been pruned and
removed along Whistler Avenue and some surrounding areas. We expect that the stump removal will
follow in the spring and we look forward to the replanting of our trees.
In looking to the future, we believe that a long- term tree maintenance and tree replacement program
is necessary. Additionally, we hope that any future sidewalk and pipe projects in the Fort area will be
mindful of the health of the trees.
Sincerely,
Meg Atkin and Peter Burr
