The scope of work includes the replacement of Pole #864. The new pole will be 5 feet taller than the existing pole and will have a short extension with a metal disk or wood osprey platform. The proposed pole replacement will provide a nesting platform that will be safer than if the osprey utilized other utility poles in the area. Based on a wetland field inspection and delineation, review of aerial photography, and review of New York State Department of Environmental Conservation(NYSDEC)freshwater wetland maps, the project is located within NYSDEC regulated Freshwater Wetland Adjacent Areas. Standard sediment and erosion control measures(silt fence)will be installed prior to initiating work to avoid impacts to adjacent wetland areas. No work will take place within wetland areas. The proposed work is an authorized activity under the NYSDEC Servco c/o PSEG General Permit 1 9901-00011/00026. In compliance with Natural Resource Permit Condition#1, which requires municipality notification, this site-specific Notice of Commencement (NOC) package is being submitted to you for your records.
