This Regular Meeting of the Southold Town Tree Committee was called to order at 7:00 PM at
the Southold Town Annex.
The minutes from the December 18, 2019 meeting were approved.
Discussion Items:
As Dave informed us in November he has now resigned as Chairman of the Committee. At this
evening's meeting Gerard Orientale was nominated to be our new Chairman. A memorandum
will be sent to our Town Board advising them that a majority of the Southold Town Tree
Committee has decided to appoint Gerard as our new Chairman requesting the town Board to
formally appoint Gerard Orientale as Chairman of the Committee. Dave will be staying on as
an active member of the Committee.
We will extend an invitation to Michael LaRocco who has sent the Town of Southold an
application and resume to possibly serve on the Tree Committee to see if he would like to attend
our February 26, 2020 meeting.
Discussion was had again about the tree in front of the pharmacy as the roots are still not gone.
Jill advised us that the Town Board hopes to find money for us to do some plantings this coming
Spring. Jill will also look into the status of our new prospective Town Tree Code.
We will next meet on March 18, 2020.
This meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
