SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT INSTRUCTIONS AND APPLICATION FORM Applications for a Special Event Permit are subject to an inter-departmental coordinated review by the Southold Town Board, Town Attorney,Town Assessors,Land Preservation,Building,Planning, Zoning Board of Appeals and Police Departments,and the Suffolk County Planning Commission. The cyclists are PEDAL THE WEST required to follow all NY Motor Vehicle laws. September 9-14, 2020 SOUTHERN ARIZONA NY law does NOT require adults to wear bicycle November 2020 helmets, but we do! No helmet/no ride/no exceptions. No cellphones or earphones while riding. MIAMI TO KEY WEST December 13-17, 2020 We do not close, block, or obstruct any roads. The size of the ride is capped at no more than 600 cyclists, per Town of Southold policy. We offer four different route lengths. Route maps are attached. We mark the route and then remove ALL marks within 24 hours. We understand that our security deposit is at stake if we fail to do this properly and to your complete satisfaction. The ride starts and ends at Orient Point State Park. We obtain separate park permits for this. No cars are parked on pey Southold streets for this event. At each rest stop we provide the cyclists with a snack that we provide. No food is sold to the public. No food is prepared at the snack stops. We use no loudspeaker or DJ system. We are responsible for all trash removal and clean up. At each snack stop we provide a paramedic, ENT, or RN. We pay for this staff, and they are all off duty, so that they won't be called away. In all instances Town of Southold first responders take a lead in case of serious incident. If a major injury occurs cyclists will be taken to:.
