I do have a notarized affidavit that this hearing has been noticed by the Town Clerk and on the Town Clerk's bulletin board and I also have an affidavit that this has been published in the Suffolk Times and that's it. SUPERVISOR RUSSELL: Would anybody like to address the Town Board on this particular hot button issue? COUNCILMAN RULAND: Yes, I would Mr. Supervisor. As the liaison to the Transportation Commission, this item had been taken up with the Transportation Commission previously as you are all well aware of. And I would hope that, I am offering again the recommendation that this be adopted and I would also ask you Town Board members to support this as well, number one, the stop sign on Bay Avenue is Bay Avenue Mattituck, it probably should say that. We all know that but some people don't but it probably should say that because there is more than one Bay Avenue in the Town of Southold. It does say Mattituck way over on the end, I stand corrected. Nevertheless, I speak in favor of it just for pedestrian safety. There is no question about it that that's a high traffic intersection in the summertime and it's high pedestrian traffic as well in the summertime and it will be much safer if southbound vehicles are made to stop.
