Wilhelm Town Clerk DW:cd 200 Howell Avenue Riverhead, New York 11901 (631)727-3200 Ext. 260 - Fax (631)208-4034 10.8 11.06.2019 ADOPTED TOWN OF RIVERHEAD Resolution 2019-800 AUTHORIZES TOWN CLERK TO PUBLISH AND POST A NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A PROPOSED LOCAL LAW FOR AN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 273 ENTITLED "SOLID WASTE" ARTICLE II SOLID WASTE GENERATED AT RESIDENCES LOCATED WITHIN SOLID WASTE DISTRICT Councilwoman Kent offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Hubbard RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized to publish and post the attached public notice to consider a proposed local law for the amendment of Chapter 273 entitled, "Solid Waste" of the Riverhead Town Code, once in the November 14, 2019 issue of the News-Review Newspaper, the newspaper hereby designated as the official newspaper for this purpose, and to post same on the signboard in Town Hall; and be it further RESOLVED, that all Town Hall Departments may review and obtain a copy of this resolution from the electronic storage device and, if needed, a copy of same may be obtained from the Office of the Town Clerk. Solid Waste 0 z Article II. Solid Waste Generated at Residences Located Within Solid Waste District CU § 273-6 Times for placement and collection; removal; storage. A. The Town Board of the Town of Riverhead or the Superintendent of the Sanitation Department shall designate times for the removal of garbage and refuse from the 0 streets of the Town. The Sanitation Department shall post the schedule for pick up days for household trash, bulk/yard waste and recvclables on the Town's website as the m Pickup days vary for each of the above categories of solid waste (i.e. white goods vs N paper) and the pickup days vary from sub-district to sub-district. w U B. All garbage and refuse, bulk/yard waste, and recvclables described in 273-3 and 273- 0 5(D), to be collected, except that in portable transfer containers, bundled pursuant to 273-5(D), or bulk/white goods, shall be placed at the curb, but in no event shall refuse for collection be placed at the curb before 12:00 p.m. of the day preceding the scheduled U collection day as set forth in 273-6(A) above. C. All containers shall be removed from the curbline or pavement line by the owner or occupant of premises before 11:00 p.m. in the evening of the day on which collection is Cq made from the premises. All garbage and refuse containers, except portable transfer containers, shall be stored in such fashion as to be screened from public view and, to the extent applicable, E subject to conditions, restrictions or covenants recorded pursuant to site plan approval. 6) L E.
