Box 447 Quogue, NY 11959-0447 RE: MAARTEN & CLAUDIA VAN HENGEL 811 CASTLE ROAD, FISHERS ISLAND SCTM# 1000-5-1-7.5 Dear Mr. Just: This letter is in response,to your October 21, 2019 letter to this office requesting a Letter of Non-Jurisdiction for the proposed project at 811 Castle Road, Fishers Island, SCTM# 1000-5-1-7.5. Upon review of the site plan for 811 Castle Road, Fishers Island, SCTM# 1000-5-1-7.5, prepared by Maarten Van Hengel & Claudia Van Hengel dated October 8, 2019 with limits of freshwater wetlands flagged by I. Cole (C.M.E. staff), equal to C.M.E. staffs line as shown on the site plan prepared by C.M.E. dated October 4, 2005 as determined by R. Marsh and D. Lewis on September 5, 2006, re-inspected and verified by Town of Southold's Board of Trustees on August 8, 2018; it is hereby determined that a Letter of Non-Jurisdiction is warranted for a proposed 20'x38' addition to an existing single family dwelling with a dry well for additional roof drainage, a 15'x30' stone patio, to abandon existing septic line to septic tank, to install a new 1,500 gallon septic tank, to install new septic line to new septic tank, to install (2) additional leaching pools, to install an 18'x33' pool, pool equipment, pool equipment discharge ring, and pool fencing. Please be advised, however, that no construction, sedimentation, or disturbance of any kind may take place seaward of the tidal and/or freshwater wetlands jurisdictional boundary, or within 100' landward from the edge of vegetated wetlands, without further authorization from the Southold Town Board of Trustees pursuant to Chapter 275 r 2 and/or Chapter 111 of the Town Code. It is your responsibility to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent any sedimentation or other alteration or disturbance to the ground surface or vegetation within Tidal Wetlands jurisdiction and Coastal Erosion Hazard Area, which may result from your project. Such precautions may include maintaining adequate work area between the tidal wetland jurisdictional boundary and the coastal erosion hazard area and your project or erecting a temporary fence, barrier, or hay bale berm.
