Minutes from July meeting Agreed to discuss them during September meeting. 2. Forum on how to handle bias incident respectfully The next meeting of the subcommittee will be on August 26 at St. Agnes at 10:30am. 3. Unity Picnic Information 2020 Unity Picnic approved to take place on August 8, 2020 Food – Give more business to regular food donors and reduce by half quantity of food usually purchased, in order to avoid having a surplus of food. Raffles – Create new signs for welcoming table/raffle tickets. Drop current BBQ vendor and identify cost efficient alternative. BBQ – Request Town officials to purchase BBQ for Picnic and other official town events. Request tote for clear easy storage of utensils and miscellaneous needed for picnic. 4. Members in attendance agreed to postpone discussion to a later date. 5. Helen Prince Honoree: Mrs. Sarah Benjamin Keynote Speaker: Dr. Anne Smith, Chair, North Fork Initiative for Behavioral Health, past Superintendent, Mattituck Cutchogue School District and 2017 Helen Prince Honoree. Food and Location: Peconic Landing – very low budget. To Do: confirm location’s availability, give Dr. Smith copy of Helen Prince diary, reach out to Suffolk Times, reach out to schools, ask Mrs. Benjamin for her resume. 6. Become Census Ambassadors to guarantee that clear and accurate information reaches all the members of our community. Members discussed about the possibility to do an informational forum and create a bilingual flyer. rd 7. It was agreed that ABTF will participate in Behavioral Health Town Meeting on October 3. 8. Discussion on SHS new exhibit on Slavery. How to help them be in touch with other experts in Suffolk County who have done in depth research for their exhibits on the topic. It was also suggested that a one pager with bullet points be put together based on a resource David Schultz mentioned regarding use of primary sources. 9. Report A.
