En-Consultants on behalf of WUNNEWETA POND ASSOCIATION, c/o FREDERICK H. MAYNE,
JR., PRESIDENT requests a Wetland Permit for a Ten Year Maintenance Permit to dredge an
approximately 20'x220' area within bulkheaded inlet channel to Wunneweta Pond to a maximum
depth of-4 MLW; and deposit approximately 275 cubic yards of resultant sand/gravel spoil above
SHW in approximately 30'x300'x12" spoil site on adjacent down drift property to northwest (SCTM#
1000-118-1-2). Located: Inlet Channel to Wunnewetta Pond, Cutchogue. SCTM# 1000-118-1-11
The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the
Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy
Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form
submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, the proposed action is
recommended as CONSISTENT with the LWRP.
Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its
written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.

assessment is intended to supplement other information used by a Town of Southold agency in
making a determination of consistency. *Except minor exempt actions including Building Permits
and other ministerial permits not located within the Coastal Erosion Hazard Area.
2. Before answering the questions in Section C, the preparer of this form should review the exempt
minor action list, policies and explanations of each policy contained in the Town of Southold Local
Waterfront Revitalization Program. A proposed action will be evaluated as to its significant
beneficial and adverse effects upon the coastal area (which includes all of Southold Town).
If any question in Section C on this form is answered "yes" or "no", then the proposed action will
affect the achievement of the LWRP policy standards and conditions contained in the consistency
review law. Thus, each answer must be explained in detail, listing both supporting and non-
supporting facts. If an action cannot be certified as consistent with the LWRP policy standards and
conditions, it shall not be undertaken.
A copy of the LWRP is available in the following places: online at the Town of Southold's website
(southoldtown.northfork.net), the Board of Trustees Office, the Planning Department, all local
libraries and the Town Clerk's office.

As the proposed dredge material will consist primarily of sand and gravel,the effects of turbidity associated with the dredging will be
particularly ephemeral and localized 'n nature,but to minimize any potentially related impacts,a silt curtain will be deployed on the
inside of the channel to prevent tempo a ,ty suspended sediment from extending into Wunneweta Pond1ind adjacent tidal wetland areas.
And as a means of containing the spoil uring the dewatering period and preventing the mate ' om reentering the waterway,the spoil
to be placed along the adjacent shoreline to the northwest will be placed at least 10 feat dward of spring high water and diked with
staked haybales.

As the dredge material will consist primarily of sand and gravel,the effects of turbidity associated with the dredging will be particularly ephemeral and

suspended sediment from extending into Wunneweta Pond and adjacent tidal wetland areas The spoil material will be placed downdrift of the inlet
along the adjacent shoreline to the northwest,thus providing sand bypass and beach renourishment to that shoreline. As a means of containing the spoil
during the dewatering period and preventing the material from reentering the waterway,the spoil will be placed at least 10 feet landward of spring high
water and diked with staked haybales. And pursuant to the requirements of the associated New York State DEC Tidal Wetlands Permit,the proposed
dredging activities are prohibited each year between June 1 and September 30 to protect spawning shellfish and/or finfish.
