Dear Mr. Bredemeyer:
Thank you for taking the time to discuss our Tree Trimming and possibly cutting. We will
do our best to conserve whatever we can. As you know,we have tried to protect the
integrity of the Wetlands here in Southold Shores. It is sad that not everyone feels its
necessary to do the same.
The Southold Shores Area is an very important area in regards to fresh water as we have
several Natural Springs and Streams in the area.
Over the past several years several homeowners have made changes which were not
approved by your Trustee Office. Others have disregarded their rules.
We do need to trim our Trees and will avoid taking down any Tree that does not affect our
homes safety.
We will mark the Trees that need to be attended to. At the present time we would
appreciate your opinion regarding the work.
We do promise to not remove any full Tree that is not a real threat.
i
I From the Peconic Bay straight over to the Sound we get direct winds, as there are no barrier
Homes or other Structures.
We have never removed any trees or Wetland Shrubs in prior years. We did have
permission to clear another 20 feet originally on our Permit, but we did not do this as there
was a apparent problem with surface water and a very high water table.
The ground water is filtered through a series of Right Of Ways and Natural Streams over to
The Hashamonuck across Route 25,.As you know these Trees and Wetland Shrubs all do a
vital part in this process.
Thank You,
Robert Schiavetta
PS:We would like to do this over a 2 year period, as we will do the minimum amount of
work and see how we fare out. It is not in the interest of anyone to remove anything which
is not necessary.
