ACTION OF THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS OF TOWN SOUTHOLD
To

at a meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday, April 16, 1959 the appeal
was considered and the action indicated below was taken on your
( ) Request for variance due to lack of access to property
( ) Request for a special permit under the Zoning Ordinance
( ) Request for a variance to the Zoning Ordinance

1. SPECIAL PERMIT. By resolution of the Board it was determined that a special permit ( ) be

2. VARIANCE. By resolution of the Board it was determined that

3 . SPECIAL EXCEPTIOi'i: Whereas the public convenience and welfare
and justice will be substantially served, and the legally eatablish-
ed or permitted use of neighborhood property and adjacent use
districts would not be substantially or permanently injured and
the spirit of the ordinance would be observed, therefore be it
resolved that the application be granted for the erection of a
real estate sales sign 2 feet by 3 feet and to be attached to the
model house shell, BUT deny permission for the erection of a 4 foot
by 6 foot ground sign to be located on the west side of the property.

SUBSECTION ll
THE SPECIAL EXCEPTION IS REQUESTED BECAUSE~ I wish to have the special exception
case #152 reviewed in the light of the decision granting a sign 2ft x ~ft to be
mouuted flush on the front of the North Fork ~ousing Guild model shell, West side
of ~in Road, ~attituck N.Y. The original application was for two si~s - one a
2' x3~ to bemo~unted on the building, the other a g~ x $~ ground sign to advertize
a real estate office in the building.
The small 2' ~3~g sign which has been mounted on the building since
permission was granted is inadequate for the pur~pse intended. I wish now to
do away with the small sign and replace it with the ground sign as originaly
requested.

with the ZONING ORDINANCE ARTICLE IZI SECTION 300
SUBSECTION ll
THE SPECIAL EXCEPTION IS REQUESTED BECAUSE the North Fork Housing Gui!d~
Inc. wishes to display a real estate sales sign on the model shell
of the North Fork Housing GuiId~ Inc~ located on the north side of
Main Road~ Mattituck: New York~ in ~A" Residential-Agricultural
District. The sign is to advertise branch office of the Russell
P. Silleck Real Estate Agency~ whose main office is Cutchogue~ New
~ork. This agency has charge of sales of this model building.
The sign is to be 2 feet by ~ feet and to be attached to the model
shell. There will be no change of classification as advertising
of this shell was conducted prior to the adoption of the Zoning
Ordinance.
The North Fork Housing Guild~ Inc. would also like to have a
~ foot by. 6 foot ground sign~ to be located on the west side of
the property and will be similar to existing ground sign on the
east side of the proper~y.
