Thus, the potential effect of the proposed stairway reconstruction, which is the disturbance of adjacent bluff soils and vegetation, will be mitigated through the stabilization and vegetative restoration of those areas. The project will have no adverse impacts on the adjacent beach or tidal waters. Board of Trustees A Lication • 1 COASTAL EROSION APPLICATION DATA Purposes of proposed activity. Describe the nature and extent of the environmental impacts reasonably anticipated resulting from implementation of the project as proposed. (Use attachments if necessary) The proposed project consists of the replacement of a damaged section of existing bluff stairway m order to maintain pedestrian access down the bluff to the beach, which on its own does not require a Coastal Erosion Management Permit. However,to restore the bluff face around the stairway and mitigate the potential effects of the proposed stairway reconstruction,i.e., disturbance of adjacent bluff soils and vegetation,an approximately 20'x 35'area of the bluff face will be revegetated after being stabilized with wood retaining wall terracing and renourished with approximately 25 cy of clean sand fill to be trucked in from an approved upland source, activities which require a Coastal Erosion Management Permit. The impact of these activities will thus be the restoration and protection of the bluff against erosion.
