Opening:
The meeting of the Agricultural Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:01 pm on April 3, 2019
in the Southold Town Hall conference room.
Next Meeting(s):
The next regular AAC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 7:00 pm in
the Southold Town Hall Conference room.
Review Proposed Acquisition of Development Rights:
MOTION made by Chris Baiz, seconded by John Sepenoski Jr., to enter into EXECUTIVE
SESSION at 7:02 pm. Where Proposed Acquisitions of Real Property Where Publicity Would
Substantially Affect the Value Thereof

Melissa Spiro, Land Preservation addressed the committee on current applications and appraisal
status.
MOTION made by Karen Rivara, seconded by Douglas Cooper, to end EXECUTIVE SESSION.
Motion carried 7/0
EXECUTIVE SESSION ENDED AT 7:43 PM.
MOTION made by Douglas Cooper, seconded by Mark VanBourgondien to recommend proceeding
with the property acquisition reviewed in executive session.

Proposed Agricultural Revisions to Town Code:
Review of Draft of Town code § 280-13 Use regulations to allow AG Processing as an
accessory use in preparation for Town Board work session on Tuesday April 9, 2019 at
10:00 am to be followed by the Town Board meeting at 7:00 pm.

Discussion of Permitted Use vs. Accessory Use.
MOTION made by Douglas Cooper, seconded by John Sepenoski Jr., to approve Draft of Town
code § 280-13 Use regulations.

Review of Agricultural related Site Plan Applications/Sub-Divisions:
No new applications submitted to the committee for review.
Review Proposed zoning changes in Agricultural Districts:
No new proposed zoning changes submitted to the committee.
Local, County, State and Federal Legislation related to Agriculture:
Announcement about the public hearings on the Farmworkers Fair Labor Practices Act in
the New York State Senate. Items included are:
Rights to collective bargaining
The elimination of the overtime exemption
Housing rights
Recap of the Suffolk County Aquaculture Lease Program Public Information meeting held
Wednesday March 27, 2019.
Review Applications for structures related to Agriculture on parcels with Town /County
owned development rights.
No new applications submitted to the committee for review.
Existing easements to be reviewed by the AAC for recommendations.
Melissa Spiro to provide committee with a copy of the standard easement language.
