( )
is requested for the reason that: I wish to build a private garage on my premises, and there
is nob depth enough to meet the requirements of the ordinance. A plot plan is attached
sho-~dr~ the proposed garage in relation to the dWelling and street.
(Continue on other side)
REASON FOR APPEAL Continued
1. STRICT APPLICATION OF THE ORDINANCE would produce UNDUE HARDSHIP because .
i purchased thi property i~ questio~ several years before the ordinance was
adopted. There is area enough d_~ the plot to meet requirements, bt~t:mthe~ lot is long
and shallow. It' we~ be i~ractical to attach the~ g~rage to the dwelling as there
are bedrooms on the ride nearest the driveway. The driveway is at the end of the
street leading into my property~ and vould be impractical ~to ch~uge this location.
2. The hardship created is UNIQUE and is not Shared by all properties alike in the immediate
vicinity of thi~' ~rop~erty 'cAd in this use district because: There are only 5 properti~es serve~
by the road leading in from the Glo~m~g~ all have a lot area,
3. ~he-Variance.,wocild..observe?tt~e:spi~it bf:the Ordinarnce c~hd WO~JED .NOT CHANGE THE
CHARACTER OF THE DISTRICT because: there are nonconforming business on property
adjoining this property, and all lots are small in the area, this property faces on the ~
harbor where there is business nearby on one side, and on the upland-residential on
the other side. The proposed private garage would in no way change the charicter of
