ZBA AnnuaI Training '2019
On April 9, 2019, at the Town board work session, :I presented a proposal for the
ZBA members' 2019 four hours of required annual training. That evening, by
Resolution #2019-341 and pursuant to NY Town Kava 267(7-a), the Town Board
approved the proposal. Each of the four one-hour seminars will be conducted in house
by the Town.Attorney, Chief Building Inspector, and Planning Director/Principal
Planner.

On April l6, 2019 ZBA IVlernbers PlaaIanaento, Lehnert„ and I attended a free fve-
hour training program provided by the N Department of State staff`for coning and
planning board rrrearabers in �'aphank. Topics included intergovernmental. GIS web
application for zoning and subdivision regulatory review in Suffolk County; building
community resilience; public meetings and hearings; adaptive re-uses for white
elephants; and aging in place.
Proposed,code definition for Cabana/Pool House
At the April 9, 2019 Town Board work session, Town.Attorney buffy, Chief
Building Inspector Verity, and 1,presented a draft proposal for a code definition of a
cabana/pool house. At this time no such definition exists in the Town. Code. The
intent of the proposal is to provide guidance to the Building Department and to
property owners on what the Town will allow, as of right. After incorporating some
suggested changes made at the work session, the Town Board approved resolution
201.9-387 that same evening, setting a public hearing on the proposed amendment to
Chapter 280„ Zoning, in connection with Definitions, for May 21, 2019.
