ACTION OF THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS OF TOWN SOUTHOLD

at a meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday, August 6, 1959 the appeal
was considered and the action indicated below was taken on your
( ) Request for variance due to lack of access to property
( ) Request for a special permit under the Zoning Ordinance
( ) Request for a variance to the Zoning Ordinance
(X) Request for a special exception to the Zoning Ordinance.
1. SPECIAL PERMIT. By resolution of the Board it was determined that a special permit ( ) be

2. VARIANCE. By resolution of the Board it was determined that

3. SPECIAL EXCEPTION% Whereas the public convenience and welfare
and justice will be served and the ldgally established or permitted
use of neighborhood property will not be substantially or permanently
injured and the spirit of the Ordinance would be observed, therefore
be it RESOLVED that the pizza sign be permitted as a special exception
and that the portion of the sign on the roof referring to 'Tavernube
eliminated by painting over in solid colors. Elimination of the.
"Tavern" part of the ridge sign shall be affected within 30 days from
this date. It is further stipulated that any other violation in
connection with signs at this place of business will automatically
revoke the permission granted herein.

Dear Mr. LaCollal
The Board has carefully considered your verbal
request to substitute the word "LaColla" for the word
'Taverrt' on the ridge sign on your building. It is the
unanimous opinion of the Board that such a substitution
would violate the aotion of the Board on Appeal No. 203
dated July 23, 1959 wherein we advised you "Elimination
of the "Tavern" part of the ridge sign shall be affected
within 30 days trom this date." Accordingly you are
again requested to eliminate the 'Tavern" part of the
sign as originally requested in Aotion just referred
to.
We would like to recall to your attention the
tact that a neon sign was erected on the root of the
Tavern without a special exception as required under
the Zoning Ordinance and that this Pizza sign became
the third sign on the building. The Ordinance permits
only one (1) sign on a building such as yours.
