In your inspection report you request proof of the cottage being constructed prior to 1957. This property was subdivided into four lots in 1972 by Robert & Joan Bayley. In the Planning Board records the subdivision map shows this building (and well) where it presently exists. My client obtained a letter from Steve Doroski who stated that this building was known as the "Rinky Dink". As late as 19S2 a small group of Polish and American Potato Farmers met in the building as a social club or bar. This and adjacent parcels were once part of the Charnews farm. When zoning came into being the bar/social club closed and the building was converted to a dwelling. It has been used as a dwelling till today. Prior to closing on this property in November prior owner, Mr. and Mrs. Schur, evicted the tenant. the The Assessor's property card states "2 buildings moved on property", the subject cottage was not moved. Either the Assessors are mistaken or the notation refers to other structures which no longer appear on the property or subdivision maps.
