Please see permit for catwalk approved at Trustees hearing in January, 2005. We were concerned about obvious dock maintenance issues on Deep Hole Creek and had access to an abandoned dock at the farm where I grew up, on the Hudson River. We put this dock in on a trial basis in Spring of`05. This small floating dock can be maintained by hand and has worked well for us to enjoy the creek and access our permitted mooring. In the 14 years it has been there, members of the Trustees and Bay Constable's office have visited the property several times. Discussions on the dock have come up and the general consensus is that what's there now is less intrusive than what was approved. However, we recently received a violation for being out of compliance. As stated in the past, we are prepared to install the catwalk as originally approved in'05 if requested by the Trustees but would like to explore any other avenues that you might advise. The option that is suggested here is preferred by me as I can maintain by hand and requires no additional poles set outside the original bulkhead remains. The current dock draws about 5" and, although the new location will be about 14'further out than it is now, the dock may sit on the bottom at extreme low tides. A town official recently suggested that feet installed on the corners of the dock may be an appropriate resolution for that.
