HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/2018 TOWN OF SOUTHOLD RECREATION DEPARTMENT Monthly Report: December 2018 DECEMBER EVENTS: Santa’s Visit – Santa and his helper, Jingle, made their annual stop by Town Hall on December 8th. Approximately 40 youth stopped in receive a small gift and have their photo taken with Santa. Photographs are available for preview on the Recreation Department’s Facebook page. Santa’s Mailbox – The Recreation Department teamed up with the Southold Homemakers Club. The Homemakers personalized approximately 50 letters to the youth that were then typed up and mailed out by the Recreation Department. th Radio City Christmas Spectacular bus trip- took place on Wednesday, December 5. A wonderful day was had by all. th “Do As You Please” Bus Trip – took place on Tuesday, December 11. WINTER 2019 PROGRAMS: th Registration for Winter programs began on November 15 and is on-going. After the initial hiccups in the system were fixed on registration day, for the most part the portal has been running smoothly. Further efforts will be made to iron out some minor kinks to tailor it to our better fit our needs. SUMMER 2019 SEASONAL STAFF: Lifeguard Certification Course - The Recreation Department 2019 American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification courses are set. We will be offering two full certifications courses, and two recertification courses, one for the full lifeguard recert and one for CPR only. This information will also be shared with the park districts, village, and neighboring Towns in hopes of increasing the number of certified lifeguards in the area. The courses will be featured in the Town’s ad in the Suffolk Times. RECREATION DEPARTMENT DEPOSITS & EXPENDITURES: Following are copies of our monthly bank statement.
