Mr. Robert W. Gillispie, Chairman
Board of Appea~*, Southold Town
Main Road
East Marion, New York 11939
Dear Mr. Gillispie:
The following memorandum has been received from one of
the members of the New Suffolk Civic Association. It is ~e~-
explanatory: ~~~ ~ --j1.~
"l) Property formerly owned by Vincent M~n at l!'irst St.,
New Suffolk - currently zoned A - Residential/Agriculture.
2) NoW owned by Salvatore Loria, owner of Capt. Marty's
Fishing Station.
3)
Garage behind house at First dt. is now being prepared
to house refrigerator(s) for the purpose of storage of
fish bait and worms.
4) A relative of Mr. Loria's is in the business of supplying
bait to various fishing stations and it is believed that
I) this building is II~ :j~P:<l3d e1~he: f~ by him.
~ 5) Property oppositlVdapt. ~rty~ishing citation known as

~MM Upon checking at the Town ~ ~~, no application
k I has been ap~lied for or given for change of zoning at the~e
two places (property formerly owned by Martin and Capt. Tom's).
It would seem, however not verified, that business is being
carried on at these two locations in violation of the Southold
Town Zoning Ordinance."
I would very much appreciate hearing from you after you
have had an opportunity to investigate the problem.
CNlvI:h
Sincerely,
~S~-.~
President

It would seem that certai~ properties in New Suffolk

Cl.'pt. 104)' g FishinG k,tatlc.n has been out of business for
many years and is now zoned "AU Hesidentlal. It ill being
lens~ ~QW ty Mr. Loria of Capt. Marty's Flshlnff Station and
he is using tUs property as a parking lot and storage area
for his ro'J' boats.
I have been in touch with HG~~rd Terry and &sked him it
the zorJUng has been changed ort these two properties. He in-
formed me that it had not and that no application for a change
of zone h ad been requested. Therefore on the basis ot this
information I request your attention to this violation of the
Town Zon'1ng Ordinance and ask that you verify the above infor-
mation.
New Suffolk is small and this problem may seem inconse-
quential but to residents of this hamlet the growth of business
into a residential area is not acceptable.
The contents of this letter might be deemed harmful by
some however, it is not my intention. As it could be mis-
construed I would rather not identity myself and theretore I sign
