The soil over the French drains has become compacted in several areas due to weight of vehicles over the past 3 years. The soil over the French drains has become compacted in several areas due to weight of vehicles over the past 3 years. Since the nor'easter at the end of October, 2018 the situation has become critical and the last several heavy rains in Nov/Dec have made the legally required handicapped parking spaces unusable. It-takes more than a day to drain these areas. See attached pictures. The drywell in this location is urgent. The current drainage in the parking lot is a Gravel French Drain measuring 5.5 ft wide, 13 inches deep for 487 linear feet. We propose adding up to 4 drywells at critical points in the French drain, with 20 feet of piping in each direction in the French drain to disperse the water into the existing drain. Each proposed drywell will be 30" in diameter and 2 feet deep. In order to lay the piping in each direction, a trench approximately a foot wide will be needed.
