Van Wicklen III Occupied owner Upon request of the Southold Town Building Department I made inspection of this one and one half story framed dwelling and found the following violations of Local Law #1, Housing Code of the Town of Southold. I was admitted to front door entrance by Mr. Van Wicklen and began inspection at approximately 1:30 p.m. FIRST STORY Living Room: No light switch on entry to control light in room - Section 529b. Insufficient outlets - Section 528a. Bedroom - northeast: No ceiling fixtures, insufficient outlets - Section 528a. Bathroom off bedroom: no violations - Only inside access to cellar i.s from bathroom,passage is through bedroom - Section 209b. Kitchen: Gas cooking range, no shufoff valve at unit - Sect on 508b. SECOND FLOOR - 1/2 story - 7'0" headroom violating Building Zone Ordinance, Town of Southold, Article I, Section 101 - Floor Area Livable. Bedroom, northwest: Insufficient outlets, no ceiling fixture - Section 528a. Bedroom, southwest: Insufficinet outlets, no ceiling fixture - Section 528a. Cellar: Inside access from bathroom on first floor - door opening 2'0" x 6'0", one side clearance from floor 4'4" due to stair stringer - stairs' rises at top are not consistant with rest of stairs - there is one inch variation; stairs excessively steep, with ten treads 7 1/2" wide - Section 216a. (Generally accepted standards N.Y. State Code - A-205-2 Treads - A-205-3 Risers - A-205-2 Headroom) Light for safe descent or ascent not operating - Section 215c. Page 2 Cellar:(Cont.) Shutoff switch for furnace, identifying plate removed, open box - Section 528a. Clothes Dr er: Not connected to suitable chimney, ischarge is in cellar - Section 520c. Washing Machine: Not connected to sewer line, water is pumped out to driveway - Section 504a, b. Light fixture, full chain, does not operate to off position - Section 528a. Yard Area: Flood lights on�rear porch wired with drop line which runs into building, and down through floor and plugged into outlet in cellar - Section 528a. Accessory Building: Ceiling light fixtures wired with drop line cord - Section 528a. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in triplicate to the Building Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use: 1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal—(S-9 form or equal). 3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters. 4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for the building. 5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable. B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non -conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing" land uses: 1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings. 3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in- formation required to prepare a certificate. C. Fees: 1. Certificate of occupancy $5.00 2.
