LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MEETING - FEBRUARY 18, 1998
MINUTES
Present were: John Greene, John Stack, Ralph Williams and Bob Kassner.
Lester/Storrs House - the commission reviewed Maureen Shea's write-
up on the Lester/Storrs House. A few changes were made. A
motion was made by Ralph"Williams and seconded by Bob Kassner to
accept the write-up from Ms., .Shea. All were in favor.
Cosden/Cahoon Historic District - It was suggested that there be two
separate designations. One for the Historic District and one for the
Ernest, Greene and Tate houses. John Greene will do the write-up
for this.
James House - It was suggested that a write-up of approximately
300 words be done. r�
Asip application - the commission reviewed this application and it was
decided that the secretary set up an inspection date for the first week
in March.
Educational Program Update - Ralph and John Stack have plenty of
material for the course and will get it ready. The secretary was
asked to contact Ken Reeves, Director of Recreation and see when
the information has to be in for the summer courses.

Other Business -
Interviews for new member are being held. The Town Board
will notify the commission of their choice.
Before Joe Townsend left the Town Board he asked if the
commission could take pictures of the Geier property. Gerry
Goehringer called John Stack and asked that no one attempt to
go into the house. Ralph and John will try to take a series of
pictures from the outside of the house.
Ralph has been involved in the meeting re: the cellular tower
in Mattituck. He also participated in working on the new cellular
tower law.
Deb gave Ralph a copy of a paper she wrote for school on milestones
in New England and New York, which the commission found very
interesting.
The next meeting of the Landmark Preservation Commission is
scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at 7:30 p.m.
A motion was made by Bob Kassner and seconded by John Stack to
adjourn the meeting at 9:05 p.m.
